Model shown is 525-432-28 with 10 MHz External Input Option.
The Series 525 is designed to provide the Amateur Radio VHF/microwave enthusiast with a high performance, high quality frequency converter at a competitive price.
<-- “high performance, high quality, low cost”
The designs incorporate the latest thinking in circuit design concepts coupled with the latest in E-PHEMT and MMIC devices.
“latest E-PHEMT and MMIC devices” -->
All local oscillators incorporate a low phase noise, phase locked loop (PLL) circuit which is locked to a temperature compensation crystal reference oscillator at 10 MHz, which provides +/- 3 PPM frequency stability over temperature - STANDARD on all models.
<-- “low noise PLL locked to 10 MHz Reference”
All models can be supplied with an external input allowing the user to use an external 10 MHz frequency reference (such as a GPS disiplined clock). We believe this to be a first for a commercially available Amateur converter line.
“external 10 MHz input option” -->
Internal filtering is incorporated to provide good out-of-band performance and image rejections of greater than 25 dB.
<-- “high image rejection”
Signal path devices and circuit designs are optimized for high 3rd order intercept performance since filtering can’t eliminate all the high emitters out there.
“high 3rd order intercept” -->
Many models are offered with a lower frequency IF to make them “SDR” friendly since many software defined radios operate below 30 MHz.
<-- “SDR friendly IF’s”
The cast housing used for all models is designed for outdoor use. It has a durable powder coated paint finish and comes standard with a integral “Universal L” mounting bracket suitable for antenna or mast mounting or fastening to another surface.
