Series 5338 Frequency Converters Description
Model shown is 5338-
The Series 5338 is designed to provide the VHF/microwave designer with a high performance, high quality frequency converter at a competitive price.
High performance
High quality
Low cost.................
latest E-
The designs incorporate the latest thinking in circuit design concepts coupled with
the latest in E-
low noise PLL local oscillators locked to 10 MHz Reference
All local oscillators incorporate a low phase noise, phase locked loop (PLL) circuit
which is locked to a digitally temperature compensation crystal reference oscillator
at 10 MHz, which provides +/-
external 10 MHz input option
All models can be supplied with an external input allowing the user to use an external 10 MHz frequency reference (such as a GPS disciplined clock). We believe this to be a first for a commercially available Amateur converter line.
high image rejection
Internal filtering is incorporated to provide good out-
high 3rd order intercept
Signal path devices and circuit designs are optimized for high 3rd order intercept performance since filtering can’t eliminate all the high emitters out there.
SDR friendly IF’s
Many models are offered with a low frequency IFs to make them “SDR” friendly since many software defined radios operate below 30 Mhz.
Extruded Aluminum Housing
The rugged extruded aluminum housings are used for all models designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
